Grzegorz Wójcik urodził się w 1982 roku w Tarnobrzegu. W latach 2001-2006 studiował malarstwo na Wydziale Artystycznym Uniwersytetu Marii Curie- Skłodowskiej. Dyplom uzyskał w pracowni prof. Jacka Wojciechowskiego. Mieszka w Tarnobrzegu, od paru lat zajmuje się malarstwem pejzażowym. Miał wystawy indywidualne i zbiorowe m.in. w BWA Galerii Sanockiej. Otrzymał wyróżnienie honorowe na 25. Międzynarodowym Wschodnim Salonie Sztuki (Lublin, 2020r.) oraz wyróżnienie na VII Międzynarodowym Biennale Obrazu Quadro Art (Łódź, 2021r.)

Grzegorz Wójcik was born in 1982 in Tarnobrzeg. In the years 2001-2006 he studied painting at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. He obtained his diploma in the studio of prof. Jacek Wojciechowski. He lives in Tarnobrzeg and has been painting landscape for several years. He had individual and collective exhibitions, including BWA Sanok, and Gallery of the Tarnobrzeg House of Culture. He received an honorary mention at the 25th International Eastern Art Salon (Lublin, 2020) and a distinction at the 7th International Quadro Art Picture Biennale (Łódź, 2021)

Grzegorz Wójcik uprawia malarstwo pejzażowe w technice akrylowej i olejnej. Obrazy artysty to kontemplacja czystej natury, pozbawionej ozdobników , obecności człowieka, niezwykle oszczędnej w wyrazie. Symbioza i harmonia formy, koloru i kształtu.

Drzewa, trawy, łąki, jezioro - niedopowiedziane elementy rodzimego krajobrazu zastygają w niezmąconej ciszy, dialogują bezszelestnie. Poprzez to niedookreślenie nabierają monumentalnego charakteru. Zmienność barw warunkowana jest przemijaniem pór roku. Refleksy świetlne, odbicia, plamy koloru nabierają zimnego, innym razem ciepłego kolorytu, zatapiając się w szarościach, bielach i brązach.

Fragmenty pola obrazowego artysta podkreśla wyraźnym duktem pędzla, fakturę wydobywa akrylem i pastą modelarską. Linię horyzontu przecinają uporządkowane w piony pasy traw czy drzew. Wyraźna statyka i czyste plamy koloru wywołują nastrój melancholijnej ciszy. Wiecznotrwała , o uniwersalnym charakterze ,ulotna, jak w japońskim ukiyo-e- zmienność świata który płynie.

Grzegorz Wójcik works with landscape painting in acrylic and oil techniques. The artist's paintings are a contemplation of pure nature, devoid of ornaments or the presence of a human being, extremely economical in expression - a symbiosis and harmony of form, colour and shape.

Trees, grasses, meadows, a lake - unspoken elements of the native landscape, they freeze in undisturbed silence in a noiseless dialogue. Through this indeterminacy they take on a monumental character. The variation of colour is conditioned by the passing of the seasons. Reflections of light and images, stains sometimes take a cold, another time warm colour, sinking into grays, whites and browns.

The artist emphasizes fragments of the image field with a clear brush stroke. The texture is brought out with acrylic and modeling paste. The horizon line intersects with vertically arranged strips of grass or trees. Clear statics and clean stains of colour evoke a mood of melancholic silence. Eternal, universal in character, fleeting, as in Japanese ukiyo-e is the changeability of the world that flows. 

O malarstwie

Malując pejzaże wybieram zazwyczaj proste geometryczne układy, kontrasty pionów i poziomów. Zestawiam gładką powierzchnię nieba z chropowatą fakturą ziemi lub trawy. Maluję symetryczne odbicia w wodzie oraz rytmiczne powtórzenia drzew. Nawet zwyczajny, z pozoru nieciekawy fragment podmiejskiego krajobrazu kryje w sobie piękno, które chcę zobaczyć a potem przenieść na płótno. 

Inspiruje mnie natura ponieważ zawiera ukrytą w sobie tajemnicę istnienia. Malowanie jej jest dla mnie refleksją nad życiem i przemijaniem. Jest próbą uchwycenia niedostrzegalnej istoty, namalowania tego czego nie da się zobaczyć. 

Myślę, że moje obrazy mogą być wytchnieniem, antidotum dla człowieka zmęczonego technologią, nieustannym pędem, zgiełkiem miasta.

When painting landscapes

When painting landscapes, I usually choose simple geometric arrangements, vertical and horizontal contrasts. I juxtapose the smooth surface of the sky with the rough texture of earth or grass, painting symmetrical reflections in the water and rhythmic repetitions of trees. Even an ordinary, apparently uninteresting fragment of the suburban landscape hides a beauty that I recognise and then transfer to the canvas.

I am inspired by nature because it contains a hidden secret of existence. For me it is a reflection on life and passing away. It is an attempt to capture the imperceptible, painting what is often overseen.

I think that my paintings can be a reprieve from, an antidote to overwhelming technology, constant rush along with the hustle and bustle of the city.
